Set of chess pieces ''The Reds and the Whites'', 32-pcs, St. Petersburg-Leningrad State Porcelain Manufactory, design Nataliya Yakovlevna Danko (1892 - 1942), sculptress, graduate of Moscow Stroganov School of Arts and Crafts (1900-1902), 1914-42 worked at the Imperial Porcelain Works (IFZ), later State Porcelain Works (GFZ), from 1919 in a leading position. This revolt chess depicts the Red Guards and their leaders as progressive workers and peasants, while the White Guards depicts the king as death and the peasants as enslaved figures, polychrome painted and ornamentally gilded by the designer Natalya Yakovlevna Danko, painter's sigil, h. 5.5 to 11 cm, In 1925 the design was shown at the Exposition Internationale des Arts Décoratifs in Paris, whereupon the editions of the molds for export increased sharply.
