Magnificent honorary cup donated by "Kaiser Wilhelm II the winner in the competition fencing of the Guard Cavalry Officers in Berlin 1905".
Silver. Trumpet-shaped, multi-profiled stand, merging into indented, short, tongue-shaped fluted shaft. High, widening, smooth dome, the base covered with lavish lancet and acanthus leaf wreath in relief. On the front engraved inscription and date; on the side two ascending canted handles, topped with lancet leaf in relief. Marked by 800, maker's mark, dealer's mark Gebrüder Friedländer. Weight 1316 g. H. 31 cm.
Provenance: From old German nobility property.
A splendid German silver speedwell cup donated by Emperor Wilhelm II to the winner of the competitive fencing of the guard cavalry officers in Berlin. Engraved dedication and dated. Standard mark 800, maker's and dealer's mark.
