Magnificent honorary cup donated by "Kaiser Wilhelm II the winner in the competition fencing of the Guard Cavalry Officers in Berlin 1905". Silver. Trumpet-shaped, multi-profiled stand, merging into indented, short, tongue-shaped fluted shaft. High, widening, smooth dome, the base covered with lavish lancet and acanthus leaf wreath in relief. On the front engraved inscription and date; on the side two ascending canted handles, topped with lancet leaf in relief. Marked by 800, maker's mark, dealer's mark Gebrüder Friedländer. Weight 1316 g. H. 31 cm. Provenance: From old German nobility property. A splendid German silver speedwell cup donated by Emperor Wilhelm II to the winner of the competitive fencing of the guard cavalry officers in Berlin. Engraved dedication and dated.
