First edition of Verhaeren's first published collection of poems. Provenance: André Mélon bookplate. Grisay, 170. ATTACHED: - Charles van LERBERGHE - Entrevisions. Brussels, Paul Lacomblez, 1898. In-8, ochre half-chagrin with corners signed Monique Bousseaud, gilt fillet on marbled paper boards, smooth spine with 3 curved fillets and small gilt circles, gilt head, covers and spine preserved (spine slightly faded). 400 numbered copies of the original edition. In-12, red half-maroquin with corners, gilded fillets on covers, five-ribbed spine, gilded head, cover and spine preserved. - Paul SPAAK - Kaatje. Brussels, Henri Lamertin, 1908. In-8, lavaliere half calf signed R. de Neuville (label of printer, bookbinder and lithographer in Verviers), paper boards with stamped and stenciled Japanese decoration of birds and flowers, gilt pearled four-rib spine, gilt filets and roulettes at head and tail, red and green leather title labels, comb paper lining and endpapers, untrimmed. Minor rubbing to edges, headpieces and spine, light spotting to leather. First edition of this play, first performed at the Théâtre Royal du Parc under the direction of V. Reding on January 8, 1908. No large paper announced. Small rings of wetness at the intersection of 2 ff. at the end of the volume. - Georges RODENBACH - Le Carillonneur. Bruxelles, De Kogge, (1943). Fort in-12, bottle-green half-chagrin with corners, smooth spine gilt threaded, gilt title on spine, green head, cover and spine preserved. Edition of 193 numbered copies.
