NW Persia, c. 1970. signed "Gholam Jalali" at the top center. Dense floral work. A 16-pass star medallion with 4 spurs rests on a pink ground, showing a cartouche with an ancient architectural structure inside. The entire field is covered with ornate arabesques, floral compositions, tendril bands, and animals in an infinite repeat, and is flanked at the edge by additional cartouches depicting ancient, architectural buildings. Florally decorated cartouches adorn the wide main border, which forms an elegant frame. Good condition. 407x587 cm (ft. 13.4x19.4).
