Frans van Mieris (after) - Breakfast, c. 1839-1842 Rare lithograph on chine collé stamped by the publisher. Print made by Johann Wölfle. Published by Piloty & Loehle, Munich, c. 1839-1842. Some folds, creasers, spots and wear signs on the support paper, the image is in very good condition (see all the photos for the details). Appr. paper dimensions 88 x 61 cm Lithographic printers active from 1839 till 1866, partnership of Ferdinand Piloty I and Loehle were the official publishers of the 'Königlich Bayerische Pinakothek' (Royal Bavarian Pinakothek). Their lithographs were produced in chine collé technique which allowed the printmaker to print on a much more delicate surface, such as Japanese paper bonded onto a heavier support, that pulls finer details off the plate. Nowadays these lithographs are in collections of renowned museums, such as The British Museum or Philadelphia Museum of Art. Rare lithograph on chine collé, stamped by the publisher.
