PAIR OF KING'S BODYGUARD FLINTLOCK PISTOLS 1ST MODEL (1814).
Smooth, blued, round barrels with thunderbolts, marked in gold "Gardes du corps du Roi", hallmarked "C" and decorated with a gold thunderbolt frieze. Flat-bodied plates signed "Maubeuge Manufre Rle", hallmarked "B" under crown, round-bodied hammers. Round brass basins. Cut-out brass fittings. Chased bridges with fleur-de-lys on the fronts. S" counterplates. Oval brass knobs chased with "Armes de France" in high relief. All screws guilloché. Light walnut crossbars punched on the counterplate side. Iron ramrods.
Good condition.
Blue and gold barrel stained and faded but clearly visible.
