2ND COMPANY MUSKETEER CREST HELMET, KNOWN AS THE "BLACK MUSKETEERS".
Silver-plated copper shell decorated with the musketeers' cross with gilded border and fleurs-de-lis. Band with motto "Alterius Jovis Altera Tela". Brass band. Crest in dragon wings decorated with lightning bolts and foliage, rosettes of chinstraps in a row topped with a cut-out Minerva head motif, and velvet-lined, silver-plated copper chinstraps with scales (some scales missing). Black mane brush caterpillar. Silver wire tassel fastening (one missing, one detached).
Later leather and black silk inner headpiece.
