A Russian porcelain Easter egg, probably made by Imperial Porcelain Manufactory in the second half of the 19th c. The top is drilled for the metal mounts and the Cyrillic letters "HV" gilded to the front side mean "Christ has Risen". The egg is painted traditionally red which refers us to Christ's passions, death, and resurrection.
