Roller jug, Westerwald, last third 18th century. Gray salt-glazed stoneware, painted cobalt blue, decorated in red technique: cartouche with rosette ornament on the front, tendrils on the sides. Two hairline cracks. Tin lid engraved and dated ''C.T.H. 1792'', lid marks of an Altenburg master ''I.P.T.''. H. 27 cm. Stoneware stain, blue paint and incised decoration, hairline cracks. Altenburg/ Thuringia. Pewter lid engraved and dated ''C.T.H. 1792'', pewterer's marks. H. 27 cm.
