[DARDEL, Léon ?] Printing plate depicting a medal bearing the effigy of Renier Chalon. S.l. [1885] Copper, 20 x 13 cm (stains mostly on margins). Reproduces the medal presented to R. Chalon in 1885 to proclaim him "Honorary Life President" of the Royal Numismatic Society, when he relinquished the presidency he had held for over 36 years. The portrait, signed Ch. Würden, is a reduction of the one executed in 1880 for the Society's 39th anniversary (cf. no. 22). Ref. De Callataÿ & Sorgeloos 107:11. Prov. "E. Bridault succ.r de H.
