Contemporary raspberry chagrin, boards framed with a double frame of cold filets, gilt fleuron on the corners of the inner frame, tribute to Renier Chalon in gilt letters in the center of the upper board, spine with gilt fleuronné, thin gilt pearled nerves surrounded by a cold fillet extending over the boards, gilt title throughout, double gilt fillet on the edges, gilt hatching on the headpieces, gilt roll on the endpapers, gilt edges (spine very slightly faded). In marbled paper slipcase (rubbed). Exceptional copy of this offprint of a series of articles published in the "Revue de la numismatique belge" in 1872-1873 (series continued until 1878), with a title, 2 ff. dedication to Renier Chalon, president of the Société royale de numismatique de Belgique, an errata and an index. Ill. of 14 pl. with 52 fig. by P. De Cleermaecker. Count Nahuys (Utrecht 1832-1895 Brussels), archaeologist and numismatist, was an honorary member of the Society since 1865 and a member of several Dutch and Belgian learned societies. Enriched with 7 loose items including: 1. Nahuys, M. de - Lettre aut. s. à R. Chalon. Wiesbaden, 13-03-1873. Thanks him for publishing the offprint, asks him to accept a dedication, attaches a draft title (not included) and suggests adding a table of names. - 2 Id. - L.a.s. to the same. Ibid, Jan. 1876.
