Contemporary vellum, spine ribbed, ms. title on spine and gutter (boards shagged, endpapers renewed). First edition of the translation, published the same year as the Latin edition, describing the collection of the Mantuan antiquarian J. de Strada (1515-1588). Considered one of the earliest works on numismatics, this collection contains over 400 woodcuts on a black background depicting the medals of emperors and empresses from Julius Caesar to Charles V.
