ZEPPELIN - Personal gift of Count Ferdinand v. Zeppelin (1838-1917), extremely rare! Art Nouveau ensemble made of precious copper and brass with tray, large jug and 6 cups, which once belonged to Count Ferdinand v. Zeppelin. It is assumed that the Count's fingerprints are still on it. The ensemble was given by the count to the miller family Brugger. The Brugger family had sold the site of their former Meistershofen mill near Friedrichshafen to the count around 1908 for the construction of the famous Zeppelin village. Count Zeppelin had paid about 20 thousand gold marks for it and there was even a Zeppelin free flight to America. In addition, Count Zeppelin personally presented Mother Maria Brugger with the Art Nouveau tray with the teapot and the cups. According to statements, the gift was not touched at all, but only admired. It always stood in a glass case in the mill, because the dignity was so great. This object is so interesting and unique in itself precisely because hardly any personal belongings of the count exist. The provenance has been handed down without any gaps and has been well documented by the descendants. Tray L ca. 36 cm, cup H ca. 9 cm,, jug H ca. 30 cm. Light scratches, some patina. Overall very good condition.
