Souvenirs of Cardinal Paul Marella. Clef d'honneur de la ville de Paris, in gilt bronze. Cut-out ring in the shape of the Nave, marked "Ville de Paris" on one side and "Fluctuat nec Mergitur" on the other, topped with the mural crown. Buckle decorated with the star of the Légion d'honneur, Croix de guerre, Insigne de l'Ordre de la Libération. Cylindrical shaft, marked "Paris à S.E. le Cardinal Paul Marella". Bit cut in the shape of the Cross of Lorraine and two shamrocks. In its presentation case, covered in blue and red leather, with the Paris coat of arms gilded with iron. Lined with blue velvet, with rectangular brass plate engraved "Paris à S.E. le Cardinal Paul Marella, Pro-Nonce du St Siège Apostolique, 1960". In the blue and red moire cover. BE L key: 27 cm Case: 32.5 x 15.5 x 4 cm (accident to case, minor wear to leather) Paul Marella (1895 - 1984) After ordination, he served in the diocese of Rome, and in 1933 was elected titular archbishop, then apostolic delegate to Japan. In 1948, he went to Australia, in 1953, he was Apostolic Nuncio to France, and in 1961, he became Archpriest of St. Peter's Basilica. He took part in the Second Vatican Council, then in the 1963 conclave for the election of Paul VI. He was President of the Secretariat for Non-Christians and, in 1977, Vice-Dean of the College of Cardinals.
