Italian school, 1st half of the 17th century, Jonah and the whale in the storm, Oil on canvas, 90 x 110.5 cm + 19th century gilded pine frame, 105 x 128 x 8 cm Under a cloudy stormy sky, and in a rough sea, we see in the center a sea creature, representing the whale, rejecting Jonah on the beach. On the left, the boat is battered by the storm. The other passengers flee, frightened by the storm and the whale (Restoration).
