Charles Holl Elegant minaudière circa 1920 In 18 K (750‰) gold, with squared decoration of pearls and brilliants on one side and striped white enamel on the other, opening with 4 sapphire cabochons and revealing 3 compartments Jeweller's hallmark Gross weight 193 g H. 1 cm L. 9.5 cm D. 5.5 cm Condition report: Small enamel chips, 1 brilliant missing from the checkered side, missing clasp/rail. Charles Holl was a prestigious French jeweler whose workshop was known for creating jewelry for Cartier, Van Cleef & Arpels, Boucheron, etc. in the early 20th century, particularly during the Art Deco period. Founded in May 1917, Charles Holl had workshops in Paris and Strasbourg, as well as a studio in New York in the 1930s. Charles Holl was particularly appreciated for his unusual and sophisticated details, creating timeless masterpieces.
