ROME Augustus (27 BC-14 AD) Denarius (3), 3.76g, 3.88g, 3.65g, Lugdunum, laurelled head right, CAESAR AVGVSTVS DIVI F PATER PATRIAE, rev. Caius and Lucius standing frontally resting their hands on a shield in front of a spear, between them, simpulum and lituus, AVGVSTI F COS DESIG PRINC IVVENT, C L CAESARES in exergue (3); Denarius, 3.85g, bare head right, CAESAR AVGVSTVS, rev. circular shield between Roman eagle and standard, S P Q R around shield, SIGNIS RECEPTIS (RIC 86a, 207; RSC 43, 265). Some cleaned and with edge marks, one with scratches in front of portrait, fine to almost very fine (4).
