1921 PEUGEOT TYPE 161 "QUADRILETTE Series: 215 Same owner for 22 years Collector's registration. Launched in 1919, the Peugeot 161 was the brand's first foray into the popular car market. The recipe was simple: two tandem seats, a small 667 cm3 engine mated to a 3-speed transaxle. Its narrow width even eliminates the need for a differential. Despite its two tandem seats, the 161 was a success, selling almost 3,500 units. The example we are presenting left the factory on November 06, 1921, and was delivered to a dealership in Montpellier. We know that this little quadrilette was then exported to Belgium, where we can trace it back to the 90s. It wasn't until 2001 that Mr Rollet acquired the car, which was then in need of restoration. He then undertook a fine restoration which has now aged well. In fact, both the interior and bodywork are in very good condition. All the vehicles in the Rollet collection have been out of service for at least 5 years, and will need to be put back on the road.
