Hutschenreuther picture plate Eos and Kephalos
Counterpart to item 3004, press mark 1873-1890, mint number H3, oval and slightly domed porcelain plate with polychrome copper overprint and onglaze painting, depicting the Greek goddess of the dawn in a sun chariot guided by turkeys and partly shrouded by purple early morning mist, seizing her lover striding through a suggested landscape and accompanied by a flying cupid aiming at him, framed in old gold moulding, cardboard back with window for the markings, moulding rubbed, otherwise in good condition for age, dimensions of frame 30.5 x 22.5 cm.
