Small lidded tureen and plate gold painting
probably France, c. 1800, unmarked, footed Empire-style bowl with two pointed handles and pointed lid with disc finial, richly decorated all around with gold-engraved ornaments such as instruments, torches, weapons, four oval medallions with antique women's and warriors' heads in sepia onglaze painting with red accents, partial gilding and gold rim, in addition dinner plate with similar ornamental decoration, yellow partial rim as well as central rosette and scattered florets in gold, brown colouring partially with manufacturing faults or age craquelé of the gilding. Age craquelé of the gold studs of the lid cartouches, otherwise good condition due to age, h tureen 14,5 cm, d plate 23 cm.
