EXCEPTIONAL LOUIS XIV MAZARIN GRIDIN DESKTOP in solid rosewood and rosewood veneer with pewter marquetry. The stepped top features a central door surrounded by 2 x 6 drawers of different sizes. It has a doucine and opens from the top. The lower part has a recessed top and flap revealing leather in fine condition. It stands on 8 sheathed legs joined by an H-shaped brace and ending in blackened wooden loaf feet. The exceptional pewter marquetry is decorated with rosettes, foliage and interlacing. The piece is in very good condition. Probably German, late 17th century. W.132 D.80 H.141.
