IMPORTANT EMPIRE HANGER in double patina bronze illustrating knowledge. A standing woman à l'Antique is leaning on books placed on the movement protected by a terminal drapery. Large cherry-red marble base with a frieze representing geography, the arts, knowledge and sculpture. (Small accident glued to a corner of the marble base). Attributed to the bronzemaker Pierre-Victor LEDURE. Ep.début XIXè. H.70 L.41 P.17. An identical clock was commissioned for the Salon "des Princes" in the Emperor's apartments at the Château de Compiègne.
