Mathieu Bénézet (1946-2013), poet, was recognized in his early years by Louis Aragon, who prefaced his first collection, "L'Histoire de la peinture en trois volumes", in 1968. Aragon said of him: "If a pumpkin, a battle or a chair pops into his head, Mathieu doesn't make me see them, he makes me believe in them.
Author of "Travail d'Amour", "L'Océan jusqu'à toi", "André Breton rêveur difficile", he founded the magazine "Première Livraison" in 1975, and was awarded the Grand Prix de la poésie by the Académie française in 2011. He has also produced programs for France Culture.
