Takerouas-akerawas. Large wooden bowl with extremely thin walls and engraved geometric motifs. Wood with a beautiful brown patina. Chipped rim with partial native repair. Diameter: 18 x 32 cm. Acquired from James Eddy, Colonial Arts, San Francisco, USA (See Art of Being Taureg, UCLA Fowler Museum of Cultural Art, page 95 for an example in the Musée du Quai-Branly). Attached is a wooden ladle (tamulat) with a handle reminiscent of the Agadez Cross. The conical bowl is deep (native metal repairs). Height: 26 cm. Acquired from John Graham AUS. Niger Sahara. Tuareg.
