Apsara. Acephalous statue representing a celestial dancer standing in a very hanghanga posture. She wears a necklace made of lotus buds. Another long necklace with three rows of pearls undulates over her breasts. Her left arm, adorned with bracelets, extends down her body, and her hand holds a part of her transparent veil skirt (dhôli), which she pulls aside to reveal her sex. Slightly pinkish beige sandstone. 45 cm high. Northern India. State of Rajasthan or Madhya-Pradesh. 11th / 12th century. Collection number in black ink: CC 2103.
