Emil Orlik Japanese Garden Around 1902-1904 Pastel chalks on dark gray toned paper. 37.7 x 59.6 cm. Framed under glass. Signed 'Orlik' in pastel in white lower left. - In impeccable condition with fresh colors. The work has been recognized by Birgit Ahrens, Hamburg, and Bernd Freese, Frankfurt, as an autograph work and dated to the period from 1902 to 1904. Provenance Private collection, Hesse The pastel was probably created during Orlik's trip to Japan from April 1900 to February 1901 or immediately afterwards.
