Etruscan bucchero chalice with figural supports. 600 - 580 BC. H 17.7cm, ø mouth 16.2cm. Bucchero pesante. Goblet with omphalos and sculptural halo on the inside, three grooves on the outside and incised frieze on the bottom. The four supports made in the matrix show alternating sphinxes and female deities in relief. Numerous scratches and small knocks, one support broken and reattached, one crack retouched at the rim, otherwise unbroken and without losses. Provenance: Ex collection I. L., Austria, acquired between 1960 and 1990.
