"Chinese Vignettes" table service Doccia, Richard Ginori manufactory, 1930s 20th century Porcelain. Mark: "Richard Ginori" with crown in red and "Richard Ginori" in green with 3 stars. Conservation: one small chipping on two flat plates; one small chipping on a soup plate; one chipping on a round serving dish These fresh and joyful porcelains are faithful reproductions of the service that was in use on the liner Andrea Doria. Chosen for the vibrancy of their designs and polychromy, they were used for rooms near open spaces and swimming pools. The decoration, with an extreme oriental theme, features several hand-painted central motifs with Chinese characters in a landscape framed by rocailles.
