Michele Rocca (Parma 1671 - c. 1751). Rocca, also known as Parmigianino, was active in Rome, where he is documented from 1691 to 1730. Here, along with Francesco Trevisani and Sebastiano Conca, he entered the circle of artists protected by Cardinal Ottoboni. He became famous for his graceful mythological and historical scenes often mellowed by Arcadian poetics.
