ATELIER MARTINE (ATTRIBUTED TO)
Corbeilles à godrons creux stylisés, circa 1920
Exceptional pair of oval side tables, forming a pair of sofa ends, in richly carved wood and original silver leaf.
Each frame features a high-relief carved border with hollow gadroons; the cut-out bases are smooth and rest on large Boule-type legs.
Each piece of furniture is crowned with a quarter-round molding and receives a top composed of a pavement of lightly tinted shagreen tiles; each of the tops is composed of nine rectangles, the pearls of the central paving stones visible and forming a geometrical figure.
Used condition, wear and jumps to the silvering revealing the red plate in places, scattered cracks and small accidents, very slight scattered delamination on some stingray tiles.
