ÉTIENNE COURNAULT (1891-1948) & JEAN DESPRÉS (1889-1980) Personnage à la main levée, circa 1930, unique piece Exceptional brooch. Proof in black and anthracite painted glass, over silver tint featuring the title motif. The glass part is held by a silver plate complete with pin clasp on the back, and set at each end in a silver bar with truncated angles. Signed J. DESPRÉS at the tip and bearing the Master Goldsmith and Guarantee marks on the reverse. Length: 5.7cm Gross weight: 18,8g Provenance: Niece of - Niece of Étienne Cournault; received as a gift from her uncle. - By descent, daughter of the previous owner, great-niece of Étienne Cournault.
