PAIR OF Sèvres porcelain ASSIETTES from the Restoration Period, reign of Louis XVIII (1814-1824).
The green background marli, possibly "vert de moufle", is decorated with a polychrome frieze of pink flowers (daisies?) and foliage, edged with gold fillets.
TBE
Manufacture royale de Sèvres, 1820.
Blue stamp mark.
D. 24 cm.
Although the decoration on our plates does not seem to match, the only Restoration-period service with a green background is the "fond vert, frise grattée" dessert service, which entered the sales store on November 24, 1820 and was delivered to La Moussaye, probably Louis-Toussaint, marquis de La Moussaye (1778-1854), on November 3, 1827, including 71 dinner plates.
