Japan, 20th century. Incense burner inscribed on the handles. The quadripod base is incised with a geometric frieze, while a frieze of Greek forms the transition. The body is adorned with a kirin crossing the waves carrying the books on its back on one side and a phoenix on the other. The two high handles are carved with dragons in relief overhanging the lip. Height: 33 cm, width at handles: 32 cm.
