LUCE (Maximilien). Autograph letter signed "ton vieux père Luce", ILLUSTRATED WITH AN ORIGINAL DRAWING, addressed to his son Frédéric, also a painter. [During the First World War]. 4 pp. in-12. An intimate letter in which he mainly gives news of their relatives and friends: "... I haven't seen [Pierre] Bonnard, I'm thinking of going there one of these days... I'm still working. I HAVE DONE A GREAT SUMMER LANDSCAPE which I'm quite happy with, according to documents... You must have heard about the [German] airplanes' attempt on Paris. It didn't bother me much, except that the whole house was turned upside down, and the chatter of the good women kept me awake... Here is the address of Georges [his nephew Georges Bouin] at Paul-Émile Pissarro's [son of Camille Pissarro and also a painter]: Asquins près Vézelay (Yonne)..." THE FULL-PAGE DRAWING DEPICTS A RURAL SCENE.
