Pieter Cornelisz van Soest (attributed to) (1581-1647) - Scene with sailing ships, 17th century cm 90x155, in frame cm 111x177 Oil on panel Dutch painter specializing in navies. The work depicts a scene from the First or Second Anglo-Dutch War, in which the English fleet, allied with the Genoese Republic, placed that of the Cross of St. George next to its flag so as not to be attacked by the Allies.
