Round barrel, beaded at the muzzle, with thunderbolt sides.
Flat-body lock engraved with foliage and a fantastic animal. Sliding lid pan. Battery and hammer engraved en suite. Mask-chased dog nut screw. Cut-out iron fittings. Oval knob decorated with flowers, foliage and foliage scrolls. Spurred counterplate.
Walnut frame adorned and enriched with six cut-out medallions, engraved with daylight. Long shaft stock. Wooden ramrod with iron tip.
A.B.E. Italy, circa 1630-1650 (repairs to the wood in places due to minor splintering or clogging, notably around the motifs and pins, following dismantling for restoration).
