Olivier DE SCHRIJVER (1958) Pair of "White Duchesse" armchairs in white synthetic fur and black-tinted mahogany wood, signed and numbered 25-26/240 for Ode's Design published by Comme chez vous Art. 70 x 65 x 80 cm (Delivery in Paris 100 eur - Delivery in Belgium 50 eur) Note: Olivier De Schrijver is a Belgian designer born in 1958 in the Congo. From his native bush he draws his creative freedom and his taste for warm, exotic materials, which he conjures up in a postmodern design he calls "Neo-vintage". He recycles his childhood designs associated with all the cultural fields of his poetic universe (travel, painting, cinema, media). Olivier De Schrijver's designs, which can be described as "Craft-Design", are the fruit of collaboration with cabinet-makers, gilders, sculptors, leatherworkers and mirror-makers. This explains why all models are limited and numbered editions, and why there's a special vibrancy in the furniture that only handcrafting can bestow.
