ART NOUVEAU WORK AFTER A MODEL BY HENRI SAUVAGE (1873-1932). ATTRIBUTED TO MAISON KRIEGER
Two-body cabinet, forming a display case, in ribbed, molded and carved oak.
The lower part on a pedestal opens with two doors and two drawers; the bottoms of the side parts form brackets for the in-between shelf.
The upper section, with its gendarme-cap pediment, opens through two glass doors in its ogival center; the side sections feature shelves and curvilinear buttresses.
The door and back panels, pediment, drawer fronts and buttresses are carved with curvilinear motifs of the Coup de fouet type; the carved receptions of the uprights, both high and low, are of the Pied d'éléphant type.
The drawer hinges and catches are in patinated bronze; the decorative motifs on the spandrels of the upper part are in wrought copper.
