Charles RUEL, Halle au blé à Alençon, Watercolor. 80 x 60 cm. The Alençon watercolorist defines "Each watercolor as an adventure in which you have to let go, forget your initial project for a moment and let yourself be guided by the water. The world of watercolors can't be explained, it has to be felt, seen and experienced...". Over the years, Charles has explored and experimented with various techniques, concentrating particularly on washes. This commitment to pushing the boundaries of watercolor has shaped his unique style and ability to capture light. One of Charles Ruel's distinguishing characteristics is his love of plein-air painting. He likes to immerse himself in nature, in the small villages of the Sarthe and Mayenne regions, to capture on paper the beauty of landscapes, the changing light and the ephemeral moment.
