OX, Hybride, Ceramic sculpture, 2021 Height 36cm Diameter 32cm. Slightly missing. For this work, the artist was inspired by the Jomon period (Japanese Neolithic) and the medieval European period, and sought to create a hybrid of these two civilizations, which have nothing in common. A young artist from Orléans, OX began by drawing and painting at the Beaux-Arts in Rouen, before discovering the art of working with clay. "It's a life's work where you don't count the hours. I still have a lot to learn. I'd like to go to Japan, where they use traditional techniques. You know, there are ceramists who spend their whole lives trying to find the glaze they have in mind", explains OX, who is not about to stop operating his potter's wheel. "We're here to offer an alternative to Ikea and its soulless objects," says the ceramist, whose passion is firmly anchored in his body and whose formula hits the nail on the head.
