Pierre BONNARD (1867-1947) painter. L.A.S. "Pierre", [1891?], to his mother; 3 1/2 pages in-8. He hopes to spend a few days at Grand Lemps [family home in the Dauphiné] and for the time being is looking for a room in Paris: "I am wary of the furnished rooms in the rue de Douai. It's a rather poorly inhabited district in general". There's snow "just like at G. Lemps"; he regrets not having been able to accompany his friend Poulaillon to Le Havre, as he embarks for America: "I've always been tempted to attend a Transatlantic departure". He has a lot to do: "The Indépendants will take place early this year, and I want to be ready". He advises his mother to take the remedy of lemons and "drink lots of them, but not up to 25. Contrary to popular belief, lemons don't hurt the stomach"...
