Adolphe CRÉMIEUX, Isaac Moïse dit (1796-1880). French lawyer and politician. In 1870, he passed the decree that bears his name, granting French nationality to the Jews of Algeria.
- L.a.s. "Ad. Crémieux" Bordeaux February 20, n.d., one page in-8, on Ministry of Justice letterhead. To pass on to Henri MARTIN, then people's representative, a letter he had just received from the lawyer and politician Emile Maugrer: "... he is a man of heart and merit, whom I like well. It seems to me, from what he writes to me, that you have esteem for him, which proves to me that I did well to give him mine".
- L.a.s. "Ad. Crémieux" October 24 n.d. half a page on an in-8 sheet, small tear in margin. He asks her: "... for November 13 two center seats at your delightful reception...".
