HENRY WALTER KLEIN (Norway, 1919-1987) for BRAMIN MOBELFABRIK. Sideboard. Teak wood with two sliding doors and four drawers. Made by Bramin, with label. It shows signs of use and traces of age. Measurements: 80 x 225 x 44.5 cm. It is a piece of furniture with a markedly horizontal structure, with simple and rounded volumes, basically a stylized prism raised on four bambi-like legs, narrower towards the base, which visually lighten the design even more by being located away from the corners. The cabinet is structured with two sliding doors and four drawers. It stands out for its clean lines, sobriety, comfort and design, being within the recognized Mid Century style. The avant-garde trend of this style is well known in the world of interior design as it represents modernism, but, at the same time, it retains a classic touch. Henry Walter Klein trained in interior design at the Tekniske Skole in Frederikberg with the renowned designer Finn Juhl. After a period of training, he worked closely with the furniture manufacturer Bramin in the 1960s. His chairs, tables and sideboards are characteristic of the Danish post-war modern style, which generally involves fine woods such as teak and well-proportioned, well-crafted forms. Bramin-mobler is a Danish publisher also known as AS Jorgensens Mobelfabrik, based in Bramminge in Denmark. From 1955 to 1968, Bramin-mobler edited furniture for Hans Olsen, Arne Vodder, Jorn Utzon, Peter Karpf or Frank Reenskaug, among many other designers. The most famous and prolific designer of the Bramin firm was undoubtedly Henry Walter Klein.
