ILLUM WIKKELSO (Denmark, 1919 – 1999) for N. EILERSEN. Three-seater sofa, model 20/3, design from 1966. Solid teak frame. Curved arms. Upholstery in the original black patinated leather. With original rubber suspensions under the seats. Made by N. Eilersen, with label. With wear due to age and use. Measurements: 72 x 195 x 68 cm. Three-seater armchair model 20/03 designed by Illum Wikkelsø and manufactured by N. Eilersen, characterized by a structure in solid teak wood with refined, light shapes and reduced to their essence, which combines straight lines with simple indentations in the armrests. Illum Wikkelsø was one of the most recognized Danish designers, despite being one of the least known. It is known that he graduated from the Copenhagen School of Arts and Crafts, and that he worked for Jacob Kjaer and for the architectural firm of Peter Hvidt and Orla Molgaard-Nielso, where he already left his mark on Danish design furniture, which arrived to spread to the whole world.
