Rollbild (Patua). Gouache on canvas, probably Cambodia 20th century Approx. 188 x 108 cm. Three-part scroll: in the upper part 5 deities enthroned under blossoming Bodhi trees, at their feet animals: Rooster, snake, tortoise, cow/cow, tiger. In the middle section is the Chulamai Chedi Stupa, surrounded in the sky by 24 deities with mourning banners, next to the stupa on the left the Möchs Phra Malai with 7 deities, on the right 11 more worshippers. Below left the Buddha sitting under the Bodhi tree, with outstretched index finger, the other fingers touching each other, and a total of 12 deities, below right the Buddha sitting under the Bodhi tree with Bhumisparsha Mudra - gesture touching the earth - and 8 praying deities. Similar to the Tibetan thangka. - Partly. - Especially in the lower part - losses and abrasions with loss of color. R
