LA DANSE, Paris, 20 issues dated between 1920 and 1922
Edited by journalist and man of the theater Jacques Hébertot, La Danse was part of a press group acquired by Rolf de Maré, founder of Les Ballets suédois, to promote his company in France. In addition to La Danse, this group included the magazines Théâtre, Comoedia illustré, Paris-Journal and Monsieur.
Abundantly illustrated in black & white and color, La Danse, which appeared monthly, announced its program in its first issue in October 1920: to be "the organ of all dances", to follow "the evolution of the choreographic art not only in France, but in all countries of the world" and finally to be "the organ of teachers, ballet masters, amateurs and laymen".
Beyond these intentions, the magazine La Danse was the privileged promotional organ of the Ballets Suédois until their dissolution in 1925. (Notice from the Centre National de la Danse)
