Louis XVI silver tabatiere, partially gilt. Elongated oval body with straight wall and flat hinged lid. The wall, lid and base richly decorated with guilloché scalloped decoration, surrounded by a decorative frieze with stylized calyxes. Each with an oval medallion in the center with fruit and flower bundles in relief as well as baskets and jugs surrounded by a fine halo. Gilt interior. Marked, hallmark, master Johan Adam Marcklin (becomes master 1771), year letter "M". Weight approx. 105 g. H. 3.5 cm. 9.5 cm x 4.2 cm. Cf. Rosenberg, vol.
