Set of six Louis XVI teaspoons in original, florally embossed leather case. Silver, fully gilt. Ovoid bowl, merging into a spade-shaped widening handle with thread-like profiled rim. The underside of the hilt engraved with a coat of arms and a crowned double-headed eagle beneath an aristocratic crown. Marked 13 lot, master Jakob Heinrich Alberti (became master in 1764). Total weight approx. 185 g. L. 14.2 cm. Cf. Rosenberg, vol. IV, no. 6933 f., 7015. Provenance: from the important collection of the Frankfurt banking family von Bethmann, which grew over generations. Six French Louis XVI gilt silver tea spoons in original leather case by Jakob Heinrich Alberti (master since 1764). Engraved noble coat of arms. Assay mark and 13 lot, master's mark France. Strasbourg. Circa 1775.
