French painter, draughtswoman and engraver, she entered the École Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs in Paris in 1899, then the École des Beaux-Arts in 1901.
After receiving a number of awards between 1907 and 1914, she took part in the war effort as a nurse, before traveling to Morocco in 1920 and 1925, and Tunisia in 1924. It was there that she found a source of inspiration that earned her a place among the Orientalist painters.
