Olivier DEBRÉ (1920-1999) Loire blanche (and white and black pasta), 1973 Oil on canvas Monogrammed and dated '73' lower right Countersigned, titled and dated on the back 78 x 112 cm Provenance Private collection, France Olivier Debré is a French painter and a leading exponent of lyrical abstraction. His work is characterized by canvases covered with broad, expressive flat tints of color. In his landscapes, he works en plein air, sometimes on the ground, to best express the signs and gestures of nature. If our painting is intended as an expression of his sensations with the elements, it is also a representation of one of his emblematic places of inspiration: having traveled extensively around the world, he loved to recharge his batteries on the banks of the Loire, painting its waters as they changed with the seasons.
